Each image I create is a visual poem, the translation of a moment. Realism that evokes emotion and skirts the edges of abstraction is what I strive for in my work.

Gillian Smith-Clark is an accomplished photographic artist, writer, editor and most recently, producer of the ‘Life Outside the Box’ podcast. She is the owner of A Modern Portrait Media and Editor-in-Chief of KBI Inspire Magazine.

Outside of Canada, Gillian has lived and worked in the United States, England and Estonia, and her camera has traveled with her around the world. She has published two books and currently lives in Northumberland County, Ontario with her family. When she’s not working, she has a passion for literature, music, philosophy, tennis, and her dogs Hairy Potter and Hudson.
