Lynn grew up in Ontario farm country where she was able to work around and with farm animals. From an early age she loved to paint. Combining realism and impressionism, she paints a wide variety of subject matter including animals, trees and flowers but her favorite pictures are those that portray animals and she especially enjoys painting horses.
“I am inspired by the interactions of animals and birds in their everyday environment: their endless expressions, action poses and antics. I love to capture the effects of lights and darks on silky coats or feathers and to create life and vibrancy with vivid colours. My goal is to tell a story by using movement and spontaneity to capture the character of a particular animal.”
Lynn mainly paints in oil, paint stick and acrylic for her large pieces and uses ink and watercolour for her smalls but also enjoys using and experimenting with a variety of other mediums.
