Designer Banri Nakamura has dedicated over four decades in the field of industrial design, product design and interior design, and this is reflected in his exhibition that features wood work pieces.
Banri’s keen interest in hand crafts led him to wood work and create the pieces by hand, not only designing them. He is inspired by the Windsor chair and Shaker chair, which have been influencing contemporarily chair design globally. By applying the essence of their fundamental design, he has been evolving this to create his own original chair.
Banri’s studio and dream house is nestled in one of the beautiful forests of Northumberland County just north of Port Hope. He built and designed it together with his family.
