Jennifer Cahill

Pyrography artist and wood turner

I am an award winning, self-taught, free hand, Port Hope Pyrographic Artist and Wood Turner. My pieces can be found in the Northumberland Arts Gallery and The Cornerstone Art Gallery in Kingston.

I freehand wood turn from rescued wood and then I freehand wood burn my pieces. I do not use any transfers, tracing or copying. Each piece is unique and original and a piece of my heart goes into every piece I make.

I take inspiration from my daily life and from my never ending colourful imagination. I am blessed to be able to express myself in an art form that has been around since the 1700’s and to be part of a small group of people that still practice the art. Every piece of wood that turn and I create on is rescued local wood. It is chosen due to the beauty in it’s grain and colouring. From beginning to end each piece is cared for and love and it is reflected in the piece.

I create custom pieces as well and I am more than happy to create a unique piece of art for you.
