Melanie Day

Melanie day has been painting for 30 years, and six years ago moved to Port Hope from Toronto. She opened up a gallery/studio space, where she proceeds to work on her art practice full time.

I am originally from England I immigrated to Canada in 1974 and landed in Toronto. I was a clothing designer in Toronto and had a store on queen west for 10 years, where I produced and sold my own clothing line. During the 90’s I worked in the film/television industry as a scenic artist and special effects props builder. I worked on many movies and TV commercial with I.A.T.S.E. During this time I proceeded to stimulate my art practice ( as a passion from childhood) I started painting in oils with various different styles from Landscape to figures. I have had many exhibitions of my work in Toronto,Mexico,New York, Vancouver, Atlanta. My work has been featured on Designer Guys, Marilyn Dennis Show, City TV and many Home decor magazines.
