Terrie MacDonald

Using earthenware clay, vessels are hand built using molds and templates I have created. I like to create common, everyday domestic objects (bowls, platters, mugs etc) which I embellish with layers of slip, sgraffito, and colourful glazes. Patterning is inspired by my love of textiles, travels to Morocco and India, gardening and Persian ceramics. A driving force in my work is my believe that handmade objects can remind us that beauty, moments of reflection, and meaning can be found in the everyday, mundane activities that occupy us all.
